Operation Sindoor: India Strikes Back, Over 100 Terrorists Eliminated in Pakistan and PoK

In a strong and swift response to the deadly Pahalgam attack that took the lives of 28 innocent civilians, India has launched a powerful military operation named Operation Sindoor. This precision strike was carried out to destroy terrorist bases across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), resulting in the death of over 100 terrorists.
Why Operation Sindoor?
The name ‘Sindoor’ carries deep meaning in Indian culture. It represents the red mark of marital commitment worn by Hindu women. After the tragic Pahalgam incident left many women widowed, the operation was named to honour their loss and show the nation’s resolve.
How the Operation Was Carried Out
On May 7, Indian forces began the operation with high-level coordination. Fighter jets and missile systems were used to strike nine major terror camps in a mission that lasted just under half an hour. A total of 24 missiles were launched. These camps were being used by groups responsible for spreading violence in Jammu and Kashmir.
Importantly, India made sure to avoid civilian areas and military targets, focusing only on the sources of terror. One of the key figures neutralized during this strike was a top terrorist leader linked to the 1999 Kandahar hijacking.
The Aftermath and Impact
The precision and speed of the strikes took the enemy by surprise. Although Pakistan attempted to respond with cross-border shelling, India stood firm. Sadly, there were civilian casualties on both sides due to retaliation, but the primary mission of neutralizing threats was successful.
This action has led to increased tensions between the two countries. Diplomatic ties, trade relations, and visa services have been suspended. India has also announced its withdrawal from some historic agreements, showing its firm stance against terrorism.
Defence officials have stated that the operation may continue if threats persist. Meanwhile, the Indian government has received full support from across political parties and the general public.
India has made it clear: terrorism will not be tolerated, and any attack on innocent lives will be met with strong action
