India’s Travel Vlogger Caught in Spy Web: Honeytraps, ISI Links & Shocking Arrests

12 People Arrested for Sharing Military Secrets with Pakistan, Including Popular YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra

In a shocking turn of events, Indian authorities have busted a major spy network involving a well-known travel vlogger, Jyoti Malhotra, who allegedly leaked sensitive military information to Pakistan’s ISI. Alongside her, 11 other individuals from Haryana, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh have also been arrested in the past two weeks.

Who is Jyoti Malhotra?

Jyoti, known online as “Travel with Jo”, was arrested after investigations revealed she was operating under a fake identity—Sejal Kapoor—and had honeytrapped nearly 100 Indian men, many of whom had connections to defense forces or confidential networks.

According to police, she was found in possession of Indian SIM cards, WhatsApp records with Pakistan-based numbers, and had received money in exchange for leaking information.

Meanwhile, police arrested Mohammad Tareef from Mewat, who was allegedly working for ISI. He too sent SIM cards and intelligence in return for money. Additionally, religious content creator Priyanka Senapati, who was seen traveling with Jyoti to Puri and Kartarpur, is also being investigated.

Clearly, this isn’t an isolated case. In fact, over the last 10 days, 12 people—ranging from YouTubers and traders to students and guards—have been held in connection with ISI spying.

Army Responds with Tech: MShield 2.0

In response to the increasing use of honeytraps and digital espionage, the Indian Army has launched MShield 2.0. This AI-powered application alerts officers about suspicious apps, foreign contacts, and possible threats.

Authorities are now urging citizens, especially influencers and social media users, to be alert and avoid suspicious contacts online, especially from unknown international numbers or social media handles.

This case is a reminder that espionage is no longer limited to traditional spies. In today’s digital world, even influencers and content creators can be exploited. The government is tightening cyber surveillance, but public awareness is crucial.
